Description In the Balkans (originally folklore from Romani peeps) it was believed that Pumpkins could turn into VAMPIRES! The belief in vampire fruit is similar to the belief that any inanimate object left outside during the night of a full moon would become a vampire. One of the main indications that a pumpkin or melon is about to undergo a vampiric transformation (or has just completed one) is said to be the appearance of a drop of blood on its skin. It could also occur if ground fruit has been kept for more than ten days. The gathered pumpkins would stir all by themselves & make a sound like ‘brrrl, brrrl, brrrl!’ then begin to shake. These pumpkins go round the houses, stables, and rooms at night, all by themselves attempting to harm. People are not very afraid of this kind of vampire though as it is thought that they cannot do great damage I couldn’t shake the thoughts of pumpkins rolling around in the night and I pictured them as being extremely stupid and derpy. I imagine they are like daddy long legs and have little fangs that are completely useless. Rising from the grave (or pumpkin patch) comes this magical candle! Alleged to aid in protection (from oogies, crappy people, & spirits (including vampire pumpkins and squash). Inside each orange pumpkin candle, a little dead vampire pumpkin lays in wait to attack!
